WHAT ARE CAS SENDING AND CAS RECEIVING INSTITUTIONS?
Sending: Illinois CAS Project participating colleges and universities where students typically earn credits that they want to later transfer to another institution where they will earn a degree. Students might earn a degree at the Sending institution, too, but the use of CAS is to plan how to move credit from the Sending to a Receiving institution. All Illinois public community colleges as well as a few other institutions and all CAS Receiving institutions are Illinois CAS Project Sending institutions.
Receiving: Illinois CAS Project participating colleges and universities where students want to transfer in credit earned at a CAS Sending institution; this transferred credit will then contribute to the students’ progress toward a degree at the CAS Receiving institution. The 18 schools listed above are licensed CAS Receiving institutions, although not all have yet implemented CAS.
