May 8, 2013 - During the FY2012 data collection it was discovered that non-credit enrollments such as English as a Second Language (ESL) and Adult Basic Education (ABE) had been included in the ICCB enrollment reporting in prior years.
Starting with the Fall 2011 enrollment report we will now separate these enrollments and have assigned a new level number, 100, to clearly differentiate these enrollments from the traditional IPED levels ranging from 1 to 19 for credit-bearing enrollments.
We are not able to identify these same enrollments in the prior years so there will not be any revisions to the Fall 2010 and older enrollment data. Non-credit enrollments are not collected from private institutions or the public universities.
2007-2008 and prior certificate data for the community colleges is not accurate. Level 1 (less than one-year) and level 2 (one to two-year) certificates were added together and labeled as Level 2 until this error was fixed in the fall 2009 enrollment data and the 2008-2009 awards data. If you are seeking data on certificates granted by community colleges prior to fall 2009, please use ICCB or IPEDS for this data.
Level 1 data was not collected from private institutions and is not reflected in the enrollment and degrees system or the IBHE data book.
