Arnoldi Re-elected Student Board Member
Troy Arnoldi, a graduate student at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, has been re-elected to a third consecutive term as the student representative to the Illinois Board of Higher Education.
Arnoldi was chosen by the Board's Student Advisory Committee, which is comprised of student representatives of public and private colleges and universities and community colleges throughout Illinois. His election marks only the second time in the Board's history that a student representative has been chosen for three consecutive terms.
"i'm honored and excited to have the opportunity to continue the work we've started," said Arnoldi, who is studying for his master's degree in public administration at SIU-E. He holds a bachelor's degree in speech communication from SIU at Carbondale. A native of South Roxana, Arnoldi now lives in Edwardsville.
Keith Sanders, Executive Director of the Board of Higher Education, said, "Troy has been a very involved contributor to the Board during his first two terms, and we look forward to his continued positive participation in the upcoming year."
Arnoldi serves on the Board's subcommittee that is conducting a study of education needs in Lake County, a precursor to a statewide examination of higher education in Illinois.
Arnoldi's new term begins July 1 and will expire June 30, 1999.
