GOVERNOR NAMES STEVEN TASLITZ TO IBHE
SPRINGFIELD - Steven Taslitz, a Northbrook investment manager,
has been named to the Illinois Board of Higher Education by Governor
Rod R. Blagojevich.
Taslitz is a general partner and co-founder of Sterling Capital
Partners, a private equity fund that focuses on education, testing,
and training companies.
He is a graduate, with honors, of the University of Illinois, with
a bachelor's degree in accountancy.
Taslitz is married, with three daughters, and is active in a variety
of civic and educational endeavors. He serves on the University
of Illinois Business Advisory Council, is President of the Glencoe
Educational Foundation and the Retinitis Pigmentosa Board. He has
served as a board member of the Francis Parker School in Chicago.
Taslitz, whose appointment must be confirmed by the Senate, will
serve the remainder of the term of Mark Barmak, who resigned from
the Board earlier this year. The term expires in January 2007.
