GOVERNOR NAMES JOHN MINOGUE TO IBHE BOARD
SPRINGFIELD – Governor Rod R. Blagojevich has named John Minogue of Chicago, an adjunct professor at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, to a seat on the Illinois Board of Higher Education.
Minogue succeeds long-time Board member Samuel Gove. His appointment requires Senate confirmation.
Minogue was President of DePaul from 1993 to 2004, where he also was a professor of religious studies. At Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Minogue is an adjunct professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Minogue has been awarded the Polish Cross of Merit and the Doctor Honoris Causa da Unisul, Universidade do Sul de Santa Catarina. He is currently a trustee of the Adler Planetarium and of the Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He also serves on the Advisory Council of the Planetary Society.
He is a graduate of St. Mary’s Seminary, DeAndreis Institute of Theology, and DePaul University. He did his doctoral studies at Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., and received his Doctor of Ministry from St. Mary of the Lake Seminary in Mundelein. He lives in Chicago.
