TASK FORCE TO STUDY MAP PROPOSAL SCHEDULES FIRST MEETING

WHAT:

Meeting of an Illinois Board of Higher Education Blue Ribbon Task Force to study a proposal to enhance funding of the Monetary Award Program (MAP).

WHEN:

Tuesday, January 11, at 10:00 a.m.
Subsequent meetings are planned for January 19 and 27, 2011, and February 4, 2011.
Times and locations will be announced.

WHO:

The Task Force members are:

• Tom Schmidt, former president of Carl Sandburg College, Chairman of the Task Force
• Sharon Alpi, a professor at Millikin University and vice chair of ISAC,
• Susan Friedberg, president of DeVry University-Illinois,
• Dimitra Georgouses, a student at Roosevelt University and an IBHE student member,
• Dean Mihas, a principal with GTCR, a private equity firm in Chicago,
• Sue Morris, vice chair of the Illinois Community College Board,
• Steve Rock, a professor of economics at Western Illinois University,
• Jerry Roper, president and CEO of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, and
• Rufus Williams, former president of the Chicago Public Schools.
