Request for Proposals (RFP): FISCAL YEAR 2009 GRANTS
ILLINOIS COOPERATIVE WORK STUDY PROGRAM

General Information

Eligible Applicants: Applicants eligible to receive grants are approved public and private associate and baccalaureate degree granting Illinois colleges and universities.

Grant Period: Grant decisions will be made at the February 3, 2009, IBHE board meeting. The grant period will begin no sooner than February 3, 2009, and will extend through June 30, 2010.

New for FY2009: Applicants are being asked to describe briefly how the student’s work opportunity is linked to a student’s academic program for each employer listed in Attachment 6 with a new Attachment 7. As an example, you may list Regency Health Care as an employer because you may have two students seeking an LPN title in the nursing field. Or, you may list McDonalds as an employer because three interns want to link their Restaurant/Food Services Management academic program to real foodservice management experience.

The online system can be accessed from the IBHE web-site at: http://www.ibhe.org/Grants/default.htm. Proposals must be entered by 5:00 p.m. CST Friday, November 14, 2008.
