The Illinois Board of Higher Education is a veteran friendly state agency. Working in a collaborative effort with partner state and not for profit agencies, we seek to provide general and specific educational information for student veterans, coordinators and administrators so that they can be better informed about issues related to student veterans. The Illinois Board of Higher Education, Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs, Illinois Community College Board, Illinois Student Assistance Commission, Illinois Campus Compact and Illinois Joining Forces are working together to better serve student veterans in their success in higher education.
Each year, IBHE communicates directly with all 60 public institutions to gather the data needed to annually produce the Higher Education Veterans Service Act Report. The report highlights the fiscal impact of programs and services dedicated to veterans at public institutions.
