Kendall College in Chicago, formerly Evanston, IL, ceased operations as an independent institution of higher education in the State of Illinois, effective August 6, 2018. Kendall College was founded in 1934 as the Evanston Collegiate Institute (ECI), a two-year junior co llege, and changed its name to Kendall College in 1950. In 1976, it transitioned to a four-year baccalaureate institution.
National Louis University acquired certain educational assets owned by Kendall College. Specifically, National Louis University will be offering four of Kendall College’s programs (AAS in Baking and Pastry, AAS in Culinary Arts, BA in Culinary Arts, and BA in Hospitality Management). These programs will reside in the Kendall College School of Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management at National Louis University. Kendall College’s students enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education or Business Management will integrate into National Louis University’s existing programs.
