Shimer College, most recently of Chicago and previously located in Waukegan and Mount Carroll, Illinois, ceased operation as an independent institution of higher education effective June 1, 2017. Shimer, previously called Mount Carroll Seminary, is now the Shimer Great Books School at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois.
